Adventure awaits! Welcome to Term 2 After-School Shred Squad GIRLS - MTB coaching by females for females. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? Junior female MTB riders aged approx. 8-11 who are capable of riding easy Blue Intermediate trails (like Tombstone & Shred Kelly). Riders must be willing and capable of riding uphill for 10-15 minutes at a constant pace (ie, up Tombstone or Mystic Lane). Indicative trails: Tombstone, Lower Flowmingo, Couch Surfer MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Minimum age: 8 - Minimum wheel size: 24-in - Capable of moderate uphill climbing (approx. 10-15 minutes climbing at a time) WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS ABOUT: This 6-week after-school program encourages kids to learn and develop their mountain bike skills, to push their boundaries, and to conquer obstacles. Led by qualified female MTB instructors with first-aid certificates and Working with Children Checks, our programs focus on building a solid foundation of skills tailored to each child's age and ability to help them unlock their potential. TERM 2 DETAILS * 6-week program * Runs weeks 3-8 of term 2 * Weekly on Fridays from May 8-June 12 * Extra dates reserved for rain delays: June 19 & 26 * 4-5pm * Starts & ends at the Mystic Trailhead, Coronation Ave, Bright * $180 per child WHAT TO BRING: * Mountain Bike suitable for offroad riding * AS-approved helmet (no skateboard/equestrian helmets, or similar) * Water (bottle or backpack) * Clothing that offers some protection (ie, no singlet tops) * Optional but encouraged: gloves, knee pads, elbow pads, long sleeves MYSTIC MEMBERSHIPS All riders require a current Mystic Park membership (Mountain Pass) to participate These are, unfortunately, no longer free for kids.
