OUR COACHES
Meet Our Team Of Instructors

LAURA
I've ridden bikes my whole life but I started mountain biking in my 20s and absolutely fell in love with it. Whether it's hitting my local cross-country trails, jumping on the shuttles for a day of gravity-fed excitement or cruising the rail trail with my daughter, (or even occasionally pulling the road bike out of the garage!), I just love being out on my bike.
I compete in state-level Gravity Enduro races around Victoria and I am the 2025 Victorian Gravity Enduro State Champion & State Series Champion (Veteran Women 35-44). I have sat on the Executive Committee of the Alpine Cycling Club since 2022 as both the Communications Officer & Mountain Bike Coordinator, and have co-directed several mountain bike events including the women's In Search of Stoke Gravity Enduro (Bright) and Ride Her Way Big Day Out.
I have been lucky enough to have access to a lot of high-quality skills coaching in that time, and I've seen first-hand the enormous impact that the coaching - but also a coach who understands you - can have on your riding and your confidence. As a woman who started mountain biking as an adult (not as a fearless teen), I understand that finding the right mindset and gaining confidence is more than half the battle for riding and progressing.
As a qualified Professional Mountain Bike Instructors' Association (PMBIA) and Global Syndicate of MTB Coaches (GCMBC) Level 1 MTB Instructor, helping other riders find the joy in mountain biking has become my passion. I believe that finding a coach who understands your goals, your motivations, and your mindset is just as important as one with the right piece of paper.
So if you're looking to progress your riding - or even just think you'd like to get into mountain biking for the first time - get in touch and we'll help get you out there!

ASH
Ash is a lifelong mountain biker with an Australian national Downhill Championship and an overseas World Cup racing career under his belt. These days, though, you'll find him mostly in Mystic Park, hitting the upper trails with friends, shredding the lower trails with his daughter or coaching other riders. Occasionally, he’ll even pull on the lycra, pull out the road bike and hit the Bright Morning Bunchie!
Ash is one of just a handful of Level 3 PMBIA Instructors in Australia and has also had a decade-long career in outdoor education. He is passionate about life in the outdoors and loves sharing that experience with other riders. He brings a unique perspective to his mountain bike coaching and his experience, along with his cool, calm demeanour makes him a drawcard for many riders.
He served on the board of Mystic Park, Bright as a volunteer board member for 2 years, and sits on the Executive Committee of the local Alpine Cycling Club, where is a two-time winner of the Club’s Volunteer of the Year award, and the race director for the popular Bright Gravity Enduro and co-race director for the Summer MTB Series.
“Being part of an active cycling community in one of the best places to ride in Australia – it’s what dreams are made of! And being able to do my little bit to help the sport grow makes me really happy,” he says.

MIM
I've been mountain biking for over 10 years and there is nothing I love more than getting out on the trails with friends and family. I am lucky enough to live in Bright, where I can enjoy Flow, Tech, Steeps and everything in between, right on my doorstep.
I compete in state-level Gravity Enduro races around Victoria and am the 2024 Victorian Gravity Enduro State Champion (Masters Women 35-44).
Getting expert coaching really helped me with my confidence and abilities on the bike - I wish I had gotten it sooner! Now as a Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association Level 1 Instructor, I love sharing these skills with others.
I am passionate about helping girls and other women gain confidence on the bike. I coach girls and teens groups in the local cycling club, as well as women's beginner and intermediate, private and group sessions. It's incredible to see people's progression with instruction, support, feedback and a safe learning environment.
So whether you are looking for foundational skills or you have a particular trail or goal in mind - I'd love to help you get there.
