Adventure awaits! Welcome to Term 1 After-School Shred Squad GIRLS - MTB coaching by females for females. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? Junior female MTB riders aged approx. 8-11 who are very capable of riding 'green-rated' Beginner trails and/or easy Blue Intermediate trails. Riders must be willing and capable of riding uphill for 10-15 minutes at a constant pace. Indicative trails: Tombstone, Lower Flowmingo, Couch Surfer MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Minimum age: 8 - Minimum wheel size: 24-in - Willing to, and capable of, riding for an hour with some climbing (approx. 10-15 minutes climbing at a time) WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS ABOUT: This 8-week after-school program encourages kids to learn and develop their mountain bike skills, to push their boundaries, and to conquer obstacles. Led by qualified female MTB instructors with first-aid certificates and Working with Children Checks, our programs focus on building a solid foundation of skills tailored to each child's age and ability to help them unlock their potential. TERM 1 DETAILS * 8-week program with 2-week midterm break * Starts Week 1 of term * Weekly on Thursdays from Jan 27, ends April 2 * Mid-term break: Feb 26 & March 5 * 5.30-6.30pm * Starts & ends at the Mystic Trailhead, Coronation Ave, Bright * $220 per child WHAT TO BRING: * Mountain Bike suitable for offroad riding * AS-approved helmet (no skateboard/equestrian helmets, or similar) * Water (bottle or backpack) * Clothing that offers some protection (ie, no singlet tops) * Optional but encouraged: gloves, knee pads, elbow pads, long sleeves MYSTIC MEMBERSHIPS All riders require a current Mystic Park membership (Mountain Pass) to participate These are, unfortunately, no longer free for kids.
