Adventure awaits! Welcome to Term 4 After-School Shred Squad GIRLS. MTB coaching by female riders, for female riders. FOR RIDERS WHO ARE: • Junior female MTB riders • Aged approx. 8–11 • Comfortable riding easy Blue/intermediate trails • Able to ride trails such as Tombstone, Lower Flowmingo and Couch Surfer • Willing and able to climb steadily for 15+ minutes • Keen to build skills, confidence and independence on the trails alongside other girls MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Age: 8+ • Bike: 24-inch wheels or bigger • Terrain: Easy Blue/intermediate trails • Fitness: Moderate; 15+ minute climbs, eg. Tombstone or Mystic Lane/Green Army WHAT RIDERS WILL LEARN This program helps riders build strong MTB fundamentals, grow confidence on the trails, and continue developing their skills in a supportive all-girls group. Riders will practise safe progression, trail skills, climbing, descending, cornering, and riding with confidence within their ability level. In the final week, we may use a gravity uplift shuttle. This would cost $25 per rider and is not included in the program fee. More information will be provided closer to the date. THE COACHES • Led by qualified female MTB instructors • With first aid certificates and Working with Children Checks THE DETAILS • 8-week program • Thursdays, Oct 8-Nov 26 • Time: 5.30-6.30pm (8x1-hr sessions) • Location: Mystic Trailhead, Coronation Ave, Bright WHAT TO BRING • Mountain bike suitable for off-road riding • AS-approved bike helmet, no skate/equestrian helmets • Gloves • Water bottle or hydration pack • Clothing that offers some protection, no singlet tops • Optional but recommended: full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and long sleeves MYSTIC MEMBERSHIPS All riders need a current Mystic Park Mountain Pass to participate. This covers not only park entry but first aid, maintenance and trail-building. Instructors are now required to check these prior to participation. If your child is an Alpine Cycling Club member, they are eligible for a free membership by emailing comms@alpinecyclingclub.com.au.
