Adventure awaits! Welcome to Term 4 After-School Shred Squad PRO-PLUS FOR RIDERS WHO ARE: • Advanced to expert MTB riders • Aged 11+ • Very comfortable on most Black/advanced trails • Already riding with strong, consistent technical skills • Ready to fine-tune their riding and take on more advanced trail features • Comfortable with climbing, trail riding, drills and challenges Indicative trails: Hokey Pokey, Old English, Espresso Martini, Boogaloo, Buddha Hood. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Age: 11+ • Ability: Advanced to Expert for age • Bike: 26-inch wheels or bigger • Terrain: Most Black/advanced trails • Fitness: Strong; capable of solid climbs, eg. Up & At Em / Stairway to Shreddin (all) WHAT RIDERS WILL LEARN This program helps advanced riders fine-tune their skills, build confidence on technical terrain, and continue progressing safely on more challenging trails. Riders will take part in skills, drills, challenges, trail riding and climbing. A positive attitude and willingness to get involved will help riders get the most out of each session. In the final week, we may use a gravity uplift shuttle. This would cost $25 per rider and is not included in the program fee. More information will be provided closer to the date. THE COACHES • Led by Ash Gray, Advanced Level 3 MTB instructor • With first aid certification and Working with Children Check THE DETAILS • 8-week program • Thursdays, Oct 8-Nov 26 • Time: 5-6.30pm (8x1.5-hr sessions) • Location: Mystic Trailhead, Coronation Ave, Bright WHAT TO BRING • Mountain bike suitable for offroad riding • AS-approved bike helmet • Water bottle or hydration pack • Gloves • Clothing that offers some protection, no singlet tops • Optional but recommended: full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and long sleeves • Full-face helmet required for shuttle sessions MYSTIC MEMBERSHIPS All riders need a current Mystic Park Mountain Pass to participate. This covers not only park entry but first aid, maintenance and trail-building. Instructors are now required to check these prior to participation. If your child is an Alpine Cycling Club member, they are eligible for a free membership by emailing comms@alpinecyclingclub.com.au.
